Situated on the south bank of the Thames, Glaziers Hall, London Bridge is the venue for this exciting new glass fair which is to be held at the start of the summer antiques season and is presented in association with London Glassblowing. This historic venue is well located for such an event and has ideal exhibition halls including the aptly-named River Room with stunning views across the Thames.
Recognising the need for a central London specialist glass fair, Oxbridge Fairs have invited some of the UK's most respected glass dealers and artists to participate. London has been at the heart of the art and antiques market for many years and is currently the most important city in Europe for the international art and antiques trade.
Over fifty specialist exhibitors will attend this prestigious fair, showing fine quality antique and collectable glass and including a number of leading contemporary glass artists.
All types of decorative and collectable glass will be represented with the accent on quality. There will be exhibitors specialising in 18th century drinking glasses, antique continental glass such as Gallé, Lalique, Daum and Moser and British art and functional glass such as early Powell, Monart and Stevens & Williams etc. There will also be specialist exhibitors in paperweights and pressed glass alongside those exhibiting stylish Scandinavian and Italian glass.
Peter Layton, the well-known glass artist, is opening his London Glassblowing studio in the nearby Leather Market, Weston Street, where the Cohesion network’s ‘Blast 2008’ exhibition will be on display. The studio will also be represented at the fair and there will be work available by the various makers from London Glassblowing as well as several other of the UK’s most interesting contemporary glass artists.
Jeanette Hayhurst will also be bringing a selection of examples from her exhibition and workshop entitled 'Real, Repro or Repaired' which she will be holding at her shop in Kensington Church Street from 4th - 14th June to celebrate 90 years of the BADA.
At REFLECT 2008 you can browse in style, finding objects to delight you and enhance your home or collection. Whether your taste is for the antique or contemporary, the ornate or the minimal, this fair will provide you with an opportunity to find that perfect piece.
The venue is well connected by underground and rail at London Bridge station, with two NCP car parks nearby.
